Apollo Pad Fire

This would have been the first Apollo manned mission with a launch scheduled for February 21, 1967. On the launch pad, during a preflight test, disaster struck. A fire swept through the Command Module (CM) and Astronauts Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Edward White, and Roger Chaffee lost their lives.
