This iron point was found near Fort Collins in Colorado. The slightly asymmetrical form is typical of the iron points made by Indians in imitation of the iron trade points brought into the area by white men. These are often referred to as barrel stave points because the source of the iron was often hoops taken from barrels.

This item dates from the last half of the 19th century. 100 x 35 mm.
